In fact this famous building is not a 'Treasury' even though today it is known under this name, the reason being that bedouins thought that the urn which is carved in its top would contain treasure... It did not, as the bedouins found finally out hemselves (they shot bullets at the urn to break it).

It is the 'Khazneh' and was more probably used as a temple. It is located at the end of the Siq (or Sik), the 1,2 km long dark passage through the rocks...
