This fortification from the early 14th century survived the World Wars unharmed. It's main sight as of today, the Big Tower 'Dicker Turm' was built in the early 16th century.
The Esslingen Castle is nicely nestled into a small vinyard high above the city of Esslingen a.N.
In July 2008 the Esslinger Burg turned temprarily into an Open-Air Cinema.
