AUERBACH'S CELLAR is where Mephistopheles (the Devil) brought Dr. Faust for a demonstration of his powers. While rowdy students watched astounded, Mephisto cast a spell that brought wine and champagne spilling from holes in a wooden table.
You find Auerbach's cellar just opposite the Church of St. Nicolai.
