Completed 1789 this is the spot of Foucault's pendulum experiment in 1851.

Located in the Quatier Latin and a church dedicated to St. Genevieve by origin, the Panthéon today is more famous as a posh burial place and mausoleum for the intelectual elite of Paris... among the dead buried here you find Victor Hugo, Voltaire, Rousseau, Marat and Émile Zola.
