With the first line (Line 1) completed July 19, 1900, Le Metro today features 211 km of track. It is rumoured that from no spot in Paris you have to walk more than 500 meters to the next entrance but now and then stations are temporarily closed down for technical (or other) reasons.
Le Metro operates from 5:30 a.m. to ca. 00:45 a.m.

Of course you are not allowed to enter the tunnel-system on your own. This capture (sorry, I don't remember the actual station) was taken regularly from the platform while waiting for 'Le Dernier Métro' smile_wink
